"This black-and-white design logbook was created as a quiet space for reflection within the practice of user-centred design, it moves beyond function and becomes an experience of its own. The book invites slower thinking—encouraging moments of pause, observation, and personal insight as ideas take shape across its pages."
Each page spread is constructed with multiple layers of visual depth, combining clean structural layouts with abstract typography to compliment the contents of the writing. The use of overlapping elements, varied scale, and intentional negative space creates a sense of dimensionality that mirrors the complexity of user-centred thinking. This layered approach guides the reader through my personal thoughts, while also leaving room for personal interpretation.
Restricting the design to a monochromatic palette allowed the focus to remain on form, hierarchy, and composition. Black and white contrasts emphasize clarity and readability, while subtle shifts in tone and texture add visual interest without distracting from the written content. The result is a cohesive system that balances structure with openness—supporting reflective writing while visually reinforcing the depth and iterative nature of user-centred design.
