This Berlin street art photoshoot focuses on capturing overlooked details within the urban landscape, using selective colour to highlight elements that might otherwise fade into the background of a bustling city. Graffiti, street textures, and everyday objects take center stage, drawing attention to the layers of history and personal expression embedded in the city’s walls and streets. By isolating certain hues against a desaturated backdrop, the series emphasises the vibrancy and individuality of Berlin’s urban art.
The high-contrast editing elevates the visual tension between order and chaos, allowing each image to feel both structured and raw. Each highlighted detail—a splash of paint, a layered tag, or a bicycle left against a mural—becomes a focal point, turning fragments of Berlin’s streets into visual narratives that capture the energy and imperfection that define the city. Layering of matte textures emphasises the urban theme by creating a mood that seems harsh and rough. The series was shot to capture a whole range of colours that, when displayed together, create a spectrum of photographs that display all the moods, forms, and styles of the German city's art.
This photoshoot was a personal project I undertook whilst travelling. The images were taken on an iPhone camera before being edited in Photoshop to create the colour-popping effect.
