"This Y-3 conceptual poster embodies the spirit of Yohji Yamamoto’s iconic quote “I don’t bother you — you don’t bother me” which he said referring to the colour black. Y-3 as a brand has adopted the colour and made it the core of its unique yet subtle fashion style. With its raw yet refined visual language, the poster perfectly aligns with Y-3’s core principles—offering space for individuality while remaining undeniably bold and quietly powerful."
The grayscale backdrop creates a mood of anonymity and urban solitude, mirroring the brand’s minimalist yet avant-garde aesthetic. To contrast, the subtle bursts of colour on the garments—featuring birds in flight—stand to highlight brand elements from the monotone backdrop. These pops of colour, reminiscent of Yamamoto’s love for asymmetry and imperfection, highlight the individuality of each clothing item whilst emphasising brand imagery. The “Y-3” logo anchors the composition, reinforcing the brand’s presence without overpowering the narrative.
The poster was created as a spontanteous project to explore brand advertising and graphic interior decor.
